Summit County and our coalition partners intend to submit a grant application to U.S. EPA for up to $1.2 million to complete environmental site assessments, remedial planning, and other planning activities to help address brownfields in our community. Summit County will serve as the lead entity and our coalition partners are the City of Akron, City of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition, and the East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation. Our project team is working hard to prepare the application in advance of the November 14, 2024 deadline. Draft applications for review and feedback consideration are available upon request beginning November 4 by contacting Brandy Brady at bbrady@summitoh.net or (330) 643-2893. Please contact Brandy with any questions or suggestions in the meantime. Stay tuned for several opportunities to become involved in brownfield planning efforts if our coalition is selected for funding!
