Summit County government is one of the largest employers in the county and is an employer of choice. With nearly 3,000 employees, the Human Resources Department is responsible for recruiting a diverse and inclusive workforce, creating opportunities for employees to work in myriad career fields (i.e. animal control, sanitary and sewer services, administration or the medical examiner’s office). The Human Resource Department performs a variety of functions that include the overall administration of the Executive’s Office human resources operations for all employees. Key service areas include recruiting, benefits administration, payroll administration, policy development and compliance, classification and compensation management, drug testing, position management, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, training and development, HR reporting, records maintenance and workforce planning.
