November 3 Update: We are aware of the federal administration's announcement that partial November benefits will be provided to SNAP recipients. At this time, we have no details regarding this process or when benefits will be available. We will share more information when it is available.

More than 77,000 Summit County residents in nearly 43,000 households rely on SNAP, which provides an average of $15 million per month in food assistance. However, as of October 27, Congress has not passed a federal budget or appropriated funding for the continuation of the program. According to a notice from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, there will be insufficient funds to pay full November SNAP benefits for approximately 42 million individuals nationwide beginning November 1.
