Important Notice for DSSS Customers in the City of Akron with Metered Wells

Regarding Changes To Your Account Number and Billing Rate

We want to inform you of an upcoming change to your Summit County Department of Sanitary Sewer bill. The City of Akron Utilities Business Office has made the decision to discontinue well meter readings. As a result, your account will transition to a flat-rate billing structure.

Effective January 1, 2025, your sanitary sewer services will be billed at a flat monthly rate of $64.15, with billing continuing on a quarterly basis. Your first flat-rate bill will be mailed in April 2025 and will cover usage from January 1, 2025, through March 31, 2025.

Additionally, please note that the first two digits of your account number will change from "18" to "29." If you have automatic payments set up, you will need to update your bank information with the new account number to ensure payments are applied correctly.
