Emergency Operations Plan
On of the primary responsibility of the government is to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens. In Summit County, the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) serves as the cornerstone for providing support, resources, and implementing programs and services necessary to safeguard lives, protect property, and preserve the environment during times of disaster.
Mitigating the impact of disasters involves a diverse range of interconnected elements that must be integrated into a comprehensive emergency management system. This system involves collaboration among local government departments, private support agencies, and individual citizens.
The Emergency Operations Plan is continuously evolving and incorporates valuable insights gained from real-world experiences, planned events, and ongoing planning, training, and exercises involving various agencies throughout Summit County.
The development of the Emergency Operations Plan adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Ohio Revised Code, Section 5502, as well as the Summit County Emergency Management Agreement.
