Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition

DSSS has utilized GE’s iFix software to provide SCADA for plants and pump stations. SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. This software reports on measured aspects of the treatment and conveyance processes for wastewater. In 2009, the agency was awarded an ARRA Grant and expanded its SCADA footprint from the two major plants and 13 pump stations, adding over one hundred pump stations to the SCADA network. The ability to see real-time statistics and flows, enables the agency to be more agile in its response to wet weather events.
