Chief Assistant Prosecutor

Margaret Scott joined the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office in 2003 having nearly a decade of civil and criminal experience. She began her tenure as a courtroom prosecutor assigned to the Child Abuse Unit and later became a supervisor with the Violent Crimes Unit. After having tried well over 100 cases, Margaret currently serves as Chief Assistant Prosecutor for the Criminal Division. She also serves as Program Coordinator for the felony Domestic Violence Court and is a member of the Akron Bar Association, serving on the Common Pleas Court Committee and the Commission on Juidicial Candidates. Margaret is a graduate of class XI of the Child and Family Leadership Exchange. Margaret was a 2006 Summit County High Point Award recipient and received the prosecutor of the year honor in 2014 from the Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties.
