The Parent Project is a parenting class that was founded over 30 years ago by licensed psychologist Dr. Roger Morgan. The proven curriculum helps parents acquire skills and the tools needed to change destructive adolescent behavior, such as:
Speaker’s Bureau: is a community education and outreach program that matches experienced and knowledgeable court representatives with civic groups who are eager to learn more about the juvenile justice system. Members of the speaker’s bureau have been trained to facilitate informative and stimulating presentations on numerous topics, including:
Presentations include a brief overview of the role Summit County Juvenile Court plays in the community and concludes with a segment of time dedicated to answering questions from members of the audience. All speaker’s bureau presentations are prepared for general target audiences, such as: civic leaders, faith-based organizations, neighborhood block watch groups, parent teacher associations, school officials, social service providers, students and young professionals.
Human Trafficking 101 is a one-time class offered to educate families in an effort to increase awareness of risk factors, identify safe relationships, and discuss resources. Classes are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, from 5 - 6:15 p.m., at Summit County Juvenile Court. Virtual classes are available upon request. Classes for youth are held on odd months; whereas, classes for parents are held on even months. Youth and parents/guardians must attend separate sessions.
